Blog Post 1: describe 10 nm and a mole of atoms

10 nm = 1 * 10^-8 meters, or 0.00000001 meters
10 decimeters in a meter, 10 centimeters in a decimeter, 10 millimeters in a centimeter, 1000 micrometers in a millimeter, 1000 nano meters in a micrometer.

In other words, incredibly small.

A mole of atoms isn't exactly a standardized measurement system, depending on the substance a mole changes. H2O, for example, has a atomic mass of around 18.  In terms of a mole, you would need 18 grams of water to obtain a mole of water.
Gold (Au), on the other hand, has an atomic weight of 107.87.  To obtain a mole of gold you would need 107.87 grams of gold.

So the size and weight of a mole depends on what the substance is made of.
